Here’s something I don’t recall encountering before. In the mail today was a letter from the new tenants of the space formerly occupied by Nocturnal, introducing to residents of Buckman their business plans. “Our establishment,” they write, “will embody the best of Portland: the menu highlighting classic ingredients of the Northwest, a monthly rotation of local artwork, and a warm sociable atmosphere.” They add that they plan to open the space for hosting charity fundraisers, plan no live music beyond acoustic guitar or piano, are pursuing “leased parking spaces”, and will be “rewarding patrons who use alternate means of transportation”. Mainly, what I’m wondering is two-fold: Anyone know anything about the EastBurn (as it’s to be called)? And has anyone ever before received such a thing from a new business moving into their neighborhood?
