Several days ago I noted the irony of ‘Lie Boyles helping to combat spam on a Montana discussion forum. Since then, I’ve checked in to see if there’s anything new. Thankfully, there is. Oh, how I love that I make myself check up on these things.
Last week, she posted a message passing along something she received from one Dale Tunnell, who describes himself as “one who understands the significance of linguistic detection and teaches psycholinguistic and voice validation technology”.
So what?
Well, do some Googling for Tunnell and his company, Forensitec. You’ll quickly discover that he posts his commercial message regarding his company and its services all over the Web. He was very busy doing so after the Virginia Tech shootings. He also posts similar messages in online discussions about divorce in order to help counter “the bias which exists in our judicial system, towards men going through divorce”.
In other words, ‘Lie Boyles, who paid her daughter a ton of public campaign dollars to spam Portland-area forums and mailing lists, and who now ironically fights spam on a Montana discussion board, is helping to pass along the commercial message of another spammer who descends like a vulture into conversations about Virginia Tech to pitch his wares.
Even better? She’s passed along his self-serving commercial message in more than one place.
Now that she’s a news reporter, I guess she can’t spam for herself anymore, but figured she’d just flex that muscle on someone else’s behalf. Maybe she’s just keeping in practice.
