According to a Republican from Alabama, on the floor of the Senate, the reason he and so many others voted to give the GOPresident the authority to invade Iraq wasn’t weapons of mass destruction, wasn’t the war on terrorism, wasn’t to promote democracy. No, the real reason was to finally stop Saddam Hussein from running around claiming he had won the Gulf War back in 1991.
