Out of curiosity, is Hollywood really full of hack writers bent on rewarding their fellow hack writers? I can’t come up with another adequate explanation for Best Original Screenplay going to a script that was little more than dialogue and stage direction (in other words, a sit-com script) rather than to examples which involved, you know, actual writing.
