Suppose The World Were Already Lost

The FURIOUS pepperoni! Sandwich

Something else I wasn’t able to do when publishing a site devoted to local politics and public policy was pitch the random recipes into which I stumble or otherwise manage to concoct for myself. For this first such post here, it’s all about my devotion to pepperoni.

  • Two slices of Italian bread
  • Eight pieces of slicing peperoni (the wide kind, not the standard pizza size)
  • Shredded cheese (asiago, fontina, parmesan, provolone)
  • Chopped garlic
  • Green olive paste

Spread the olive paste on one slice of the Italian bread, and the chopped garlic on the other. Cover one slice with shredded cheese. Place the pepperoni atop the cheese, two layers of four slices each. Put the other slice of bread atop the pepperoni.

Wrap the sandwich loosely in foil and place it in the oven (or toaster oven) at 350 degrees for approximately 15-20 minutes, or until heated through enough for the cheese to have melted.

Serve, enjoy, and don’t breathe on anyone for awhile.
